Pub Crawl in Nice? Start Your Night on a Beer Bike

A pub crawl is one of the classic ways to discover Nice at night with friends. But walking from bar to bar is not the only option. I run the Sun Bike, a beer bike where up to 15 people pedal together around a bar counter. Here is how it compares with a classic pub crawl, and how to combine both for a great night out in Nice.
Beer bike or pub crawl: what's the difference?
On a pub crawl, you walk from one bar to the next, usually in Old Nice, with a guide or on your own. On a beer bike, the bar comes with you: your group sits around the counter, pedals together and rolls through the city with music and two karaoke mics.
- You see the city: the Sun Bike goes through Place Garibaldi, the Port, the Promenade des Anglais and Place Masséna, places you would not see from inside a bar.
- Your group stays together: nobody gets lost between two bars, and you can hire the whole bike just for your friends.
- No effort needed: the electric motor does most of the work, so nobody needs to be fit.
- It fits in your evening: the ride lasts about one hour, so you still have the whole night for the bars.
The best combo: beer bike first, then the bars
The best plan is not to choose. Start with the beer bike in the late afternoon or at sunset, then walk to the bars of Old Nice or the Port, a few minutes away from where you finish.
- Late afternoon: meet outside the Anantara Plaza hotel, on avenue de Verdun, next to Place Masséna.
- One hour: ride the Sun Bike through the city, with your playlist and the karaoke mics.
- Sunset: a short walk to the Rauba Capeu viewpoint, between Old Nice and the Port.
- Evening: dinner in Old Nice, then the pubs and cocktail bars around the Cours Saleya, or the Port area for a more local vibe.
How much does it cost?
- Shared tour: from €20 per person, or €35 with 6 drinks and socca. Good for small groups and couples.
- Private tour: €350 for the whole bike, up to 15 people, with 6 drinks per person (local beer or sangria) and socca included. That is about €23 per person for a group of 15.
- There is also an alcohol-free option, so everyone can join.
Departures run every day from 8 am to 8 pm, and cancellation is free until departure.
Who is it for?
The Sun Bike works for any group that wants a fun night out in Nice: bachelorette parties and hen dos, stag dos, birthdays, team nights out or simply friends on holiday. For more ideas, read 10 things to do in Nice with friends.
